About April M. Reign

California roots, a life of motion, and a love of story. April draws on the beaches and cities she knows best, the sports that shaped her discipline, and the music that trained her ear for rhythm. The result is fiction that blends heart, heat, and high stakes.

Roots and Rise

April M. Reign grew up in Southern California with happily married parents and two younger sisters who remain her closest friends. Weekends often meant the beach, long boards, and her father teaching all three girls how to ride a wave. Sports were a constant. She played softball and tennis, surfed often, and trained for thirteen years in Kenpo karate with her family. Those dojo days are still among her favorite memories.

Music shaped her early creativity. April played the accordion for twelve years, performing for Jerry Lewis kids fundraisers, and learning to read and write music along the way. While music gave her rhythm, writing gave her voice. She started with poetry at fifteen. By twenty she was crafting short stories to move ideas from mind to page.

At twenty one she married, and soon welcomed two sons. When her marriage ended, she committed herself to raising her boys with strength and kindness. To support her family she worked as a litigation analyst for ten years and began the path toward law. Long days of college and longer nights in the law library brought a clear realization. Practicing law was not the life she wanted.

She pivoted to international trade and spent eleven years as a United States Customs Broker. She worked closely with the FDA and the FWS, clearing shipments and solving problems at the border. Through those years she kept writing. In June 2007 she published her first novel, Enticing the Moon. The pages kept coming. She has since written dozens of novels and short stories, entering contests and taking home first place more than once.

Today April is an indie author who writes and publishes her books directly to readers. She travels across California and beyond, folds real locations into her worlds, and shares parts of the journey in her online writing. Her work spans paranormal, science fiction, mystery, and thriller. Many of her series blend vampires and witches with romance, always with a pulse of suspense.

Stories that linger long after the last page. That is the goal for every book.
